Field Blend Contiesas is made from century-old organic vineyards, blending varieties such as Doña Blanca, Verdejo, and Albillo. With spontaneous fermentation and ageing on lees in used barrels, it is characterised by aromas of white and citrus fruits, as well as minerals, reflecting its varietal purity.
The Field Blend collection comprises three wines — a red, a white, and a claret— that embody the style of the original Tierra del Vino de Zamora wines, which dates back to the planting of vineyards that are now up to 120 years old.
The Field Blend collection revives the historic practice of the DO Tierra del Vino de Zamora, where each vineyard was planted according to the owner’s preference, blending white and red grape varieties.
The coupage was thus determined at the time of planting, creating unique wines that honour this authentic and original tradition. The coupage was thus determined at the time of planting, creating unique wines that honour this authentic and original tradition.
Traditional winemaking in Tierra del Vino was straightforward and authentic, producing light, fresh wines without differentiating between reds, whites or clarets. Each grower blended varieties in accordance with their personal preferences and tastes, producing unique wines with varying proportions of white and red grapes, reflecting all the authenticity of the old vines.
Today, presenting a wine with these characteristics in Tierra del Vino de Zamora might seem a bold and unexpected venture. Yet essentially, all we are doing is casting a glance back at our origins, listening closely to what the old vines tell us. The Field Blend collection is proof that sometimes, the most groundbreaking approach is a return to tradition.

Doña Blanca is the predominant variety in our vineyards, characterised by its honest expression of the lands in which it grows.
White and citrus fruits as well as minerals are the dominant aromas. However, both on the nose and palate, the wealth of grape varieties to be found in the old vineyards of Tierra del Vino comes through, creating a surprising and playful complexity.

Ageing: 3 months in used French oak barrels.
Process: We hand-harvest all the vineyard’s white varieties, predominantly Doña Blanca. The whole bunches are processed in a pneumatic press before being transferred to tanks for spontaneous fermentation. The wine then rests on its lees for 3 months, followed by a further 3 months in barrels.
